Let’s take a moment to look at three types of “would be” internet marketers that make up a very large part of the marketing websites that you see on the internet. The Gold Miner The Expert/InnovatorThe Traditional Business Merchant
The Internet Gold Miner - An internet gold miner is someone whose primary motivation for engaging in internet marketing is for the promised riches. Just as one in five Americans made their way to California during the gold rush, people all over the world, are staking claims on the internet in search of riches. And just as the gold rush prospectors were not really interested in the gold itself, but rather the wealth it could bring them, most internet marketers have no real interest in marketing. Even worse, many of them have no sincere interest in serving people.
The Expert / Innovator - This is the inventor, the author, the innovator, and the person with specialized knowledge looking to make their passion their livelihood. The Expert /Innovator (in most cases) does not want to be a marketer. However, they realize that without marketing they are not able to share their passion and knowledge with the world. The Traditional Business Merchant - The traditional business merchant is the person who already has a functional business and is looking to expand their business onto the internet. One of their biggest challenges is in understanding that sales copy and the sales process is now the primary sales person representing their business. This is a much different experience for the seller and the buyer. In all three cases many of the Internet Gold Miners, the Expert / Innovators, and the Traditional Business Merchants, all neglect the most critical elements of the online marketing process. Why? Because they dabble rather than select one of the only three real options that give them the best chance for success as an internet entrepreneur.
